Activity

100 Club

100 Club aims to function as a platform for companies that commit various refugee support, especially in career development and employment.

Challenges

Launching “100 Club Japan”, a business platform working to expand employment opportunities for refugees.

Proactive efforts of companies are vital for refugees’ social inclusion through employment. Therefore, we believe that the visualization of activities of companies working on refugee support is necessary to create a space to learn and support each other.

What we do

Launching “100 Club Japan”

Inspired by the Swedish government’s initiative ( “100 Klubben” encouraging companies to hire 100 foreign workers), we aim to launch the Japanese version of 100 Club. Not only for regular full-time employment, but we encourage actions towards various employment inclusion, outsourcing, mentorship, expanding internships, and so forth. We provide opportunities for sharing efforts and best practices of each company and advice from refugee support organizations. This platform encourages the following. 1. Publicize company initiatives: Introducing initiatives of companies that are proactively working on expanding employment opportunities for refugees 2. Advice from refugee support organizations: provide opportunities to collaborate and receive advice from refugee support organizations and further encourage effective and impactful initiatives taken by the companies

Pledge

Launching 'Japanese-Version 100 Club' for Refugee Employment and Inclusivity in Japan

"Welcome Japan" is dedicated to fostering an inclusive work environment for all refugees residing in Japan, irrespective of their nationality. As part of our commitment, we are introducing the "Japanese-version 100 Club". The "100 Club" will serve as a platform that brings together companies committed to providing various forms of support, especially in the realm of employment and career development. This includes not only hiring refugees but also expanding employment opportunities for them. The platform will facilitate: 1. Publicizing Company Initiatives: Companies that are actively working towards expanding employment opportunities for refugees will have their efforts showcased, thereby fostering a conducive atmosphere for refugee employment. 2. Guidance from Refugee Support Organizations: Companies will receive advice and collaboration opportunities from refugee support organizations, ensuring their initiatives are effective and impactful. Our pledge aims to benefit refugees of all nationalities in Japan, ensuring they have ample employment opportunities and are integrated seamlessly into the workforce. Through the "100 Club", we aim to onboard at least 100 companies to champion the cause of refugee employment.
